Hello Lamp Post
Hello Lamp Post is a UK-based technology company that transforms everyday objects such as lamp posts, benches and statues; into interactive touchpoints, allowing communities to engage with their surroundings in innovative and meaningful ways. With a presence in cities worldwide, Hello Lamp Post collaborates with governments, cultural organisations and businesses to create interactive urban experiences that enhance public engagement and community participation.
When Hello Lamp Post approached Averma, their website was no longer meeting their needs. Built using a hard-coded structure, it lacked the flexibility required for a growing global brand. Their team couldn’t easily make edits, limiting their ability to update content, share new projects or adjust messaging to align with evolving marketing strategies. While they were happy with many aspects of the website’s overall design, certain elements had become outdated and the user experience didn’t fully reflect the forward-thinking nature of their brand.
Refining the Website Without Losing Brand Identity
Unlike many redesign projects, the objective wasn’t to completely overhaul the website but to modernise and enhance what was already there. Hello Lamp Post had a strong visual identity and our role was to refine it to ensure the design felt sleek, contemporary and engaging while maintaining consistency with the brand.
We updated key design elements to align with modern UI and UX best practices, improving the visual hierarchy, typography and responsiveness. The refreshed design made the website more accessible, easier to navigate and better suited for mobile users, who form a significant portion of their audience. These adjustments ensured that Hello Lamp Post’s digital presence remained visually compelling while improving user experience.
Empowering the Team with a Flexible WordPress CMS
To give Hello Lamp Post’s team the ability to manage their website internally, we transitioned their hard-coded site to WordPress. This shift eliminated the need for developer intervention whenever content updates were required, enabling the marketing team to add new case studies, update service offerings and optimise pages for campaigns without technical constraints.
The WordPress platform was customised to support their specific content needs, ensuring they had a streamlined, intuitive dashboard for managing updates. This provided long-term flexibility, allowing the website to grow alongside the company.
Improving Engagement and Navigation for a Global Audience
With Hello Lamp Post’s expansion into global markets, their website needed to serve diverse audiences across different regions. We enhanced the navigation structure, making it easier for visitors to find information relevant to their location, industry or area of interest. Calls to action were redefined to guide users toward meaningful interactions, such as learning about smart city projects, exploring case studies or getting in touch for a demo.
By restructuring the content flow, we ensured that visitors could quickly understand Hello Lamp Post’s value proposition without unnecessary complexity. The result was a more intuitive, engaging and informative user experience that better supported the company’s global expansion efforts.
The Impact
Since launching the updated website, Hello Lamp Post has seen immediate benefits in both usability and efficiency. The marketing team can now manage content effortlessly, removing the bottlenecks caused by a hard-coded system. Visitors spend more time engaging with the site, with stronger interactions on key pages and improved conversion rates from targeted calls to action.
What was once a static, difficult-to-manage website is now a dynamic, scalable platform that supports Hello Lamp Post’s mission to create smarter, more connected cities worldwide.
